Creating Comfortable Spaces: Bunk Beds and Racks for Boys and Girls Hostels in Gujarat
Global Foundation enhanced the living conditions at two hostels for underprivileged children in Gujarat, India, through the donation of essential furniture.
In January, the foundation provided 50 three-tier steel bunk beds and 50 storage racks to Vanbandhu Boys Chhatralay, ensuring the boys no longer had to sleep on the floor or share beds. This improved their comfort, academic performance, and overall well-being, bringing relief and happiness to students and their families.
In December, 40 two-tier bunk beds and storage furniture were donated to the Manaichondi Girls Hostel in Dharampur, Valsad district. The girls expressed heartfelt gratitude, as the hostel transformed from a basic shelter into a restful and uplifting space for learning and growth.
Both hostels are managed by the Vanvasi Utkarsh Trust. The project was executed in partnership with SEWA Rural and Vivekananda Gramin Tekniki Kendra (VGTK), a vocational training center. By sourcing furniture from VGTK, Global Foundation not only met the hostels’ needs but also empowered local artisans and businesses, contributing to community development.
This initiative reflects Global Foundation’s dedication to improving the lives of children through education, comfort, and sustainable development.
