Supporting Rural Communities: Global Foundation’s 2023 Donation to Trust for Reaching the Unreached (TRU)
In 2023, Global Foundation donated $4,000 to the Trust for Reaching the Unreached (TRU), a registered charity in Vadodara, Gujarat, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of rural communities across Panchmahal, Vadodara, and Godhara districts. This builds on our previous $5,000 donation in 2020.
Key Initiatives by TRU:
- Community Health Programs: Delivering primary healthcare, preventive care, and health education.
- Mental Health Support: Offering counseling, therapy, and support services.
- Education for Girls: Empowering girls through education and skill-building programs.
- Disaster Relief: Providing emergency aid during crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Impact:
TRU serves 60 villages, reaching underserved populations through a dedicated team of doctors, psychiatrists, and healthcare providers.

Empowering Girls’ Education with Sustainable Energy: Global Foundation’s 2023 Solar Initiative
In 2023, Global Foundation addressed the critical need for reliable electricity in rural Gujarat by donating solar power systems to two girls’ hostels: Shaktimathh Kanya Chhatralay, Manaichondi, and Divya Brahmlok, Vanvasi Kanya Chhatralay, located in Dharampur Tehsil. These hostels, in disadvantaged rural areas, faced frequent power outages, disrupting the students’ learning environment.
Impactful Transformation:
Before the solar installation, unreliable electricity meant dim lights, frequent outages, and challenges for students and teachers alike. Now, with consistent power, students can study late into the evening under bright lights, significantly improving academic performance. Fans and lights now operate seamlessly during the hot summer months, creating a comfortable and productive environment.
Building Local Capacity:
The project went beyond equipment installation. Partnering with SEWA Rural and Vivekananda Gramin Tekniki Kendra (VGTK), a local vocational training center, the installation was entrusted to skilled local technicians. This not only supported the local economy but also provided hands-on training, enhancing VGTK technicians’ expertise in solar technology and opening doors to future projects.
A Step Towards Sustainability:
The systems were installed following a thorough energy needs assessment and approved by the Gujarat Electricity Board, ensuring smooth and legal operation. This initiative exemplifies sustainable energy solutions that empower young girls to achieve their potential, transforming lives and communities.
By investing in clean energy, Global Foundation reaffirms its commitment to creating brighter futures for underprivileged communities.

Supporting Holistic Development: Global Foundation's 2022 Donation to JK Yog
In 2022, Global Foundation contributed $2,000 to support JK Yog’s ambitious University and Hospital project in Odisha, India. This transformative initiative, spearheaded by Jagadguru Kripalu University in partnership with the Odisha government, focuses on blending education, healthcare, and rural development to uplift communities.
Key Features of the Project:
Modern Naturopathic Hospital: Eastern India’s first state-of-the-art naturopathic hospital combines ancient practices like yoga, physiotherapy, and acupressure with modern medical techniques to offer non-invasive treatments.
Community Outreach: The Jagadguru Kripalu Clinic provides free and subsidized healthcare services, including dental care, vision care, pathology, and maternal and child healthcare. A 400-bed hospital is under construction to further enhance access.
Rural Development: The Jagadguru Kripalu Skill Institute empowers women and rural youth through skill-based education and industry partnerships. The Center for Rural Entrepreneurship supports older residents in starting micro-enterprises with training and funding.
Education and Research: The university offers programs in spiritual sciences, yoga, naturopathy, and more, with plans to expand to nine departments and promote research in diverse fields over the next five years.
This project embodies JK Yog’s mission to improve the quality of life in Odisha by advancing education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
Bringing Sustainable Energy to Rural Schools: Global Foundation’s 2022 Solar Initiative
In 2022, Global Foundation donated solar power systems to two schools in rural Gujarat, India—Ramjibhai Rupera Kumar Chhatralaya in Dharampur and Janaki Ashram Kanya Shala in Dediapada. These schools faced unreliable grid-based power, disrupting education and increasing costs.
Project Highlights:
Energy Independence: A detailed energy assessment ensured the solar systems met each school’s specific needs, providing reliable electricity and reducing costs.
Local Collaboration: Partnering with SEWA Rural and Vivekananda Gramin Tekniki Kendra (VGTK), local technicians installed the systems, supporting the community’s economy and enhancing VGTK’s expertise in solar technology.
Sustainable Implementation: Approvals from the Gujarat Electricity Board ensured smooth, legal operation of the systems.
This initiative was more than a donation—it was an investment in the community’s future. By providing clean, reliable energy, the schools can now offer improved learning environments, enhance educational quality, and inspire a more sustainable future.
Transforming Lives at Ananda Ashram Shala
Global Foundation enhanced the lives of 250 students at Ananda Ashram Shala in Chonda, Gujarat, by donating 48 two-tier bunk beds. This initiative provided students with safe and comfortable sleeping arrangements, essential for their well-being and academic success. The teachers, trustees, and students expressed heartfelt gratitude for this meaningful upgrade to their living conditions.
Supporting the Local Community:
This project went beyond a simple donation. Partnering with SEWA Rural and Vivekananda Gramin Tekniki Kendra (VGTK), the bunk beds were crafted by local artisans, generating valuable income and boosting the local economy.
About Ananda Ashram Shala:
Established in 1997 and managed by Sahyadri Girijan Mahila Vikas Mandal, the school provides education and hostel facilities to underprivileged students from grades 1 to 10. With 3,685 graduates since its inception, many students have pursued higher education in fields like engineering and science, a testament to the institution’s commitment to quality education.
